For our current cars - Golf GTI - I test drove this without the sales person - and Mercedes GLE - sales person was in the car but we drove where we wanted, there was no “approved” route. I live in the US and have had various experiences. I remember being with my dad on test drives in the late 90s in the UK - none of them had the sales person in the car. Why does the sales person need to drive the car aside from (perhaps) manoeuvre out of some tight spot? Why does it need to be a pre approved short route?
